If your children are in a public school

Should an emergency at Diablo Canyon occur, public school officials may decide to close their schools and move students to a Public School Relocation Center as a precaution before any protective actions are directed.  Students will be moved by bus to a Public School Relocation Center under constant adult supervision. Listen to a local radio or television station for details on school relocations and where to pick up your children.

Parents should not pick up children at schools unless they told to do so. This could cause traffic and safety problems for children who are being relocated and delay the process.  Also, children may have already been moved to a Public School Relocation Center before parents arrive.

If your children are in a daycare, attend a private school or are in a before/after school program

Please check with your children’s care provider regarding their emergency plans. Parents should ensure they know the process for reuniting with their children during an emergency.
